Invasive alien species (IAS) and the impacts they can generate in their new distribution ranges are a growing concern for environmental managers and institutional actors. This is especially true for aquatic environments, often affected by biological invasions.
In order to provide support to all stakeholders involved in this issue, a specific working group, Biological Invasions in Aquatic Environments (WG BIAE) was created in 2009.
This website, developed in the activity framework of the working group, provides access to many sources of information on invasive alien species affecting aquatic ecosystems, as well as strategies for a better management.
